Summer Science Institute (6th -12th)

Forensics – June 8-12 2026.

Students will explore various techniques of forensic science. They will analyze evidence from the field using methods of forensic entomology and anatomy. In the laboratory, they will develop skills in chemical analysis, molecular biology, microscopy, and applied physics. Special guest professionals will join our lecture to share their expertise and real-world experiences. The program will culminate in a simulated crime scene investigation.

Format

Experiment and team-based learning is grouped by grade level (Group 1: 6th – 8th graders, Group 2: 9th-12th graders). Each group will have a PBA college student as a Counselor.  Laboratory experiments are led by PBA professors twice daily.

Daily schedule:

8:30-9:00am: check-in

9:00-9:50am: Lecture/Special Guest

10:00-12:00pm session 1 – lab experiment

12:00-12:50pm: lunch

1:00-3:00pm: session 2 – lab experiment

3:00-3:30pm: dismissal

 

  • It is anticipated that the total number of campers will be capped at 48 students.
  • Camp will run from 8:30am to 3:00pm – cost: $450.00/student.
  • Lunch in the cafeteria is included.
